Talking
to Preschoolers about Tough Subjects: Terrorism, Death, Divorce,
and Parental Separation.
The
Family Center
is pleased to offer a timely seminar on how to talk to young
children about difficult topics such as terrorism, war,
parental separation/divorce, and death. This seminar, designed
for parents and/or teachers of preschool-age children, gives
practical advice about deciding if an issue needs to be addressed,
and if it does, how to address it in a way that is most helpful
to them. Because these tough issues are not only difficult for
our children, but are also difficult for grown-ups, too, the
seminar also includes suggestions for coping with our own feelings,
as
well as when to seek professional help.
