Closed Head Injury Often the family and friends of patients with closed head
trauma do not understand the psychological isolation and suffering
of their loved one. A Family Center patient wrote the following
poem describing his constant struggle:

| |
I'm so frustrated dare I think
| |
That my brain has a missing link;
| |
I'm so frustrated dare I say that
| |
That while the tide ebbs I stay at bay;
| |
I'm so frustrated I do beseech
| |
That often there are thoughts I cannot reach;
| |
I'm so frustrated I'm often in a haze
| |
That it feels like my mind is all a maze;
| |
I'm so frustrated I do proclaim
| |
That most of the time I feel I am to blame;
| |
I'm so frustrated I do profess
| |
That my thoughts inextricably are all a mess.
