The Family Center is pleased to now offer advanced
computer-based Neuro-Cognitive Therapy utilizing NeurXercise™ for the treatment of the following conditions:
Attention deficits
Slowed processing speed
Impulse disorders
Left-sided neglect
Immediate and delayed memory deficits
Set shifting difficulties
Disorders in executive functioning
Developmental Disabilities
Initially,
a client will be assessed through a pre-treatment neuropsychological
evaluation in order to ascertain unique
strengths to build upon, as well as
to identify areas of weakness. Once this is completed, the client begins
completing the NeurXercise™ modules. After a client
has completed their individualized
NeurXercise™ program, a post-treatment neuropsychological evaluation
will be completed in order to ascertain progress made.
What
is NeurXercise™?
NeurXercise™
consists of thirty multilevel game-like exercises for improving
cognitive functioning in individuals with brain impairment.
It is theory-based, has adjustable parameters for individual treatment
planning, has a motivating format, is menu driven and simple to use.
Analyses of a client's performance on each exercise can lead to suggestions
for treatment planning, compensatory and restorative strategies.
The
NeurXercise™ system includes modules aimed at rehabilitating
a variety of neurocognitive functions including:
