Family Center play therapists are trained to observe and interact with children as they express themselves through play.This allows the therapist to obtain greater understanding of the child. Such understanding allows the therapist to help the child make sense of his her behaviour which leads to greater self awareness and more effective self-control.

Play therapist meet regularly with the child's mother and/or father for both parental guidance and input from the parents.
